The neighbourhood

The neighbourhood

Dursley is a historic market town on the edge of the Cotswolds, at the foot of the Cotswold scarp. It is surrounded by small wooded valleys and pastureland, and lies within easy reach of Bristol, Bath, and Gloucester.

Almost next door to the cottage, the parish church of St James the Great lies at the heart of the town. Opposite the church is the 18th century market house where a farmers' market is held monthly. Dursley is a thriving place, with a great selection of cafes and even an award winning pub (The Old Spot) to choose from.

There is a supermarket in the town centre - a 5 min walk from the cottage - for any last minute supplies you may need. Other shops close by include newsagents, the post office, a bakery and a butcher - as well as a florist, camera shop, bike repairs, gift shops and much more.
